Just a Heads Up!

I'll be on vacation March 14-April 14th and will have very little access to the internet.  I will not be able to mail out any orders during those dates, so if you want to place an order in time for Easter, order ASAP! Otherwise I can mail things out in April when I get back :)  I'm getting so excited to see Luvah!and these girls! AND do a little bit of this...
Puerto Rico here I come! I'm so ready for warm weather and beaches.  I'm excited to be spending my birthday there too :) No better way to celebrate than to be laying out on a beautiful beach somewhere soakin up the rays!  The only thing that gives me anxiety is thinking about my 10 hour flight over there with my girls by myself. Now that Hayden is walking and VERY busy, it's going to be tough!

Some of My Newest Additions

I've been obsessed with this color scheme. For some reason it reminds me of the circus.  I know, sounds weird, when I was trying to explain my vision to my mom she didn't understand what the heck I was talking about, lol. These particular necklaces just remind me of the epidomy of childhood and going to "The Big Top" you know,  the circus! Eating cotton candy being surrounded by the amazing colors within that circus tent.  Anyway, I'm hoping these will be popular at the Spring Boutique next month.  I think these are my FAVES so far :) Which are your favorites? Are there certain color schemes you'd like to see?

I Guess Hayden Took Them Over!

So I made these leg warmers for Mia, but by the looks of it I think Miss Hayden has taken them over! I guess that's one of the great things about having two girls, they can share :)

St. Patrick's Day Leg Warmers

I know, I know, I already made Valentine leg warmers for my girls, but I love them and I found the knee socks to make them for 50% off. When I bought them I didn't know we would be in Puerto Rico, so they may be a little hot, but we'll see.  I'll have Mia where them the week before to preschool because it's pretty chilly in the morning PLUS she can always wear them next year :)
The Girl Creative

Flutter Sleeve St. Patrick's Day Dress

This year I wanted to make Mia a St. Patty's Day dress she could wear anytime. I found this light weight adorable fabric about a month ago and fell in love with it. We'll be back in Puerto Rico during St. Patrick's Day so this light weight fabric will be perfect for the hot, humid weather :)  I think I'll make Hayden a dress with this fabric as well, but I'm thinking more along the lines of a little sun dress. Will post pics when I'm done :)

I Couldn't Resist!

I just got a new shipment of beads in the mail today :) I've been day dreaming about making a necklace to match this dress since I ordered them.  I love the way it turned out. I'll have to post a picture of JUST the necklace later so you can see it better.  I made a yellow cupcake with white frosting and a red cherry on top.  Can you tell Hayden feels pretty?  I still have more to make for the boutique next month, but needed to take a break and make one for my girls :)  Get your orders in now so you'll have them in time to put in your daughter or granddaughter's Easter basket!

Yellow and Bright Pink Orchid Headband

While I was in California over Valentine's weekend, I stocked up on some new flowers for Spring and Summer.  I haven't ever used orchids for my clips or headbands and thought they would make a great addition. I think this headband is so fresh looking and the colors are even more vibrant in person.  Hayden wore this the other day with her hair in two low pigtails-it looked SO CUTE :)  I also bought pink and purple orchids all ranging in size.  I'll have to post those at a later time when I have time to photograph them.

Boutique Sneak Peak

I told you I've been busy!  I'm only a little over half way done. I'm trying to make each necklace different. I have some that are the same style, but I try to use different beads so they each are one of a kind.  Now I look at Mia's necklaces I made her awhile ago and think she needs an upgrade!  Maybe once the boutique is over I'll make her some new ones.  Because my 15 month old LOVES to wear these, I made some in smaller sizes in case others would like them for their 1 year olds. Hope you see something you like. If you can't make it and see one you fancy, leave me a comment with your info and I'll set it aside or make you another one.  Side note, I will be back in Puerto Rico March 14-April 14 so get your orders in soon :) Did I mention these would be a great extra something to put in your daughter's Easter basket this year? I'm just sayin....

Valentine Felt Fortune Cookies (Yes, I know, this post is late!)

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day!  Angie over at Treasures for Tots has a great tutorial on how to make these sweet fortune cookies. Mia has been on a play food kick lately. She tells me she is the restaurant owner and continues to make me food all day, so she loved these!

Sorry, I've been busy getting ready for this...

I was invited to set up a table at this Spring Boutique and couldn't be more excited AND flattered!  I am not able to attend because it is in CA, but I will be mailing my toddler/little girl necklaces and they will have a table set up for me!  For any of you living in Southern California near Los Alamitos, I highly recommend you go. I will be marking my prices down for this event ONLY, so it will be worth it :) Also there are going to be some other FABULOUS vendors.  I am busy at work and will post pics later!

Salt Dough Conversation Hearts

I found the tutorial on how to make these Candy Heart decorations on Sandy Toes and Popsicles.  I couldn't get the dough quite the color I wanted, but overall it was a cute inexpensive way to decorate.  Head over to Jill's cute blog, she's got a lot of cute ideas and fun things you can do with your kids :)

My Sassy Little Valentine!

I took this picture this morning just before taking Mia to her Valentine's party at preschool.  She was so excited this morning to get ready and go.  She loved the leg warmers (yes I decided to give them to her early.  I figured it would be better for her to get more use out of them, plus it was her party today!  I think everything came together nicely, don't you? The headband, necklace, and leg warmers are MUST have accessories, don't you think?!

Lady in Red Headband

I made this headband for Mia and I to share. I actually finished it this morning so she could wear it to her Valentine's party at preschool, but she decided she wanted to wear the one I made her last year, lol.  Better for me though because now I get to wear it today!  I can make custom orders so if there are certain colors you like just let me know :)

New Valentine Leg Warmers for Hayden

OK, so I couldn't resist! I was at Joann's yesterday and all their Valentine socks were 50% off so I had to make Hayden a new pair. The ones I made her last year are getting a little small ;-) Any excuse for cuteness right?  I have them layered up with tights.  I also made another pair for Mia. I'll post them once I get a picture of her wearing them.  I've got a few other Valentine projects I'm working on-I hope I finish!!! I can't believe Valentine's Day is already on Monday.  Do any of you have Valentine's Day plans?  Do you have any traditions with your kids?  I think I'm going to have Mia decorate heart shaped sugar cookies and take them to neighbors (and eat some of course!).  I should make heart shaped pancakes for breakfast, but I haven't been a morning person these days so we'll see...Would love to hear what your plans are

New Chunky Beaded Necklaces for Sale $25

Just finished a couple more Valentine's Necklaces. I can't believe how popular they've become :)  I thought I would make some more so they are ready to ship out now that Valentine's Day is just around the corner.  I decided to make one with just pink and white beads for those of you that want something that your little girl can wear year round.  Mia wears her red and pink heart necklace year round, but some people prefer a necklace that doesn't look too "Valentinesy".  I am loving that the red and pink necklace looks like yummy candy!  It looks so good I want to eat it! The 2 heart beads on each side remind me a heart suckers :)
I made another Butterfly Love necklace because they have definitely become a favorite.  I always change some of the beads so they are never exactly the same.  This one has fun orange and white striped gumball beads.  I also decided to try out a bottle cap necklace.  The pendant is a bottle cap with a pink crown on the front.  I love black, white, and pink together. I think this one turned out SO cute!  I'm tempted to keep it (like always) because Mia and Hayden don't have any like it.  These are both ready to be shipped out as well :) Let me know if you'd like to place an order and I'll email you a paypal invoice. Thanks!

Custom Order: 3-6 Month Dress for Sunny

I love this Amy Butler fabric! I've been waiting to use it and was thrilled when Sunny (one of my friends since 1st grade) asked me to make it for her to give as a baby gift.  I'm working on a couple hair accessories too and will post those once they're finished. Happy Friday!

Just a Little Something I Whipped Up for Dinner

I have to admit, this salad tasted so good tonight!  I bought some scallops at Trader Joe's  a few weeks ago and have had them in my freezer. I decided to thaw them out and put them in a nice refreshing salad. I LOVE seafood!  After I took this picture I decided to add sliced almonds and pomegranate infused craisins.  Have you ever heard of those?  I just found them at Costco the other day and love them.  This salad is really easy and I love how lite it is.  I'm not really one of those kind of people that follows recipes very well. I'm more of a creative cook I guess you'd say. One that looks in the fridge and sees what there is to work with. I just throw in whatever looks good. Measurements? Forget about it! hahaa...OK, here is how I made this lovely salad:
Ingredients:
Scallops
frozen shrimp (thawed under running water)
asparagus
mandarine oranges (canned)
sliced almonds
pomegranate infused craisins
romane lettuce

How to prepare it:
First I put a little Olive Oil in a frying pan and let it heat up. Next I dropped the scallops in the pan with some crushed garlic and let it cook a while.  I added salt and pepper as needed.  Once the shrimp were thawed, I added those to the pan as well.  After about 10 minutes or so, I added the asparagus. Once they turned a brighter green I drained out most of the water and juices from the scallops and shrimp.  I wanted to let it all caramelize a bit, so I let it cook until it all got lightly browned and kept stirring.  I then placed the cut up romaine lettuce in a large bowl and poured the scallops, shrimp and asparagus on top.  Next I added the oranges, almonds, and craisins.  Pour your dressing on and stir!

Now for the dressing:
2T Olive Oil
1T White Vinegar
1T Soy Sauce
1tsp. sugar

ENJOY!!
