Hayden Modeling MiaMoo Toddler Necklaces

Now doesn't this make you want to order one??? ;-)  It's so funny, whenever I put a necklace on Hayden, I can just tell they make her feel so pretty. My husband I were laughing about it yesterday because he got to see it for himself. Once I put the necklace on her, she turned her chin up a little bit showing it off, it was so cute! You're never too young to feel glamourous!

Valentine Photo Shoot

OK, so this wasn't really the photo shoot I was planning, but the lighting was so perfect outside I just had to take their pictures.  I wanted to go to a location, but once again I settled with my backyard. Neither of them were too thrilled to take pics today, so maybe I'll try again. I think we got some cute ones though!

Valentine Leg Warmers

I found these adorable knee socks at Target and just knew I had to turn them into leg warmers for Mia.  I especially love the ruffle detail and bow at the top :)

Custom Order for Carrie

I've had so much fun working with Carrie!  She has placed a few custom orders and I just LOVE her color choices. Custom orders always help me get outside my box and and I love that.

Carrie wanted a bright pink cupcake with bright colorful supportive beads. She really wanted me to incorporate yellow, so when I came across the yellow butterfly beads I knew it would be perfect!  For any custom orders please leave me a comment with your email address or email me. Thanks!

Custom Order for Jill

Jill wanted a Valentine necklace for herself using a lot of the same type of beads I used on my toddler Valentine's necklaces, but she wanted it to look more grown up, so this is what I came up with.  I used a glass heart pendant instead of a plastic one (its also bigger) and used some larger metal spacer beads.  She wanted a long necklace so I thought adding a double chain would make it look more sophisticated and stylish.   It looks even cuter in person!

Custom Order for Carrie

I added a little pink bow to give it more detail.

I am so in LOVE with the way this headband turned out! It reminds me of a bright fruit salad :) Custom orders are so  much fun.  Mia wants one just like it now! Luckily I have left over fabric to make more of these beauties. Just leave me a comment with your email address if you'd like to order one or something similar.  This particular headband is $30.  Thanks Carrie! You've been so much fun to work with :)
*Beautiful ruffled onesie made by Rosie's, but I'll blog about that later ;-)

Custom Order for Shannon

This chocolate cupcake with lavender frosting beaded necklace is going to a very special birthday girl next month.  She loves cupcakes and her mommy, (one of my very best friends from junior high school) thought this would be perfect to give her on her birthday. I have to agree! :)

Part of the Fancy Nancy Collection

I think I'm going to make some of these for the ladies on thin metal headbands too!  I love the way this  baby/little girl headband turned out. I just got a request to make one of these in bright spring colors, so I'll be shopping for some new fabric in the next few days. I like the idea of bright colors so I may just have to make another for my girls :)  I can make these in pretty much any color, so let me know if you're interested!  I'd like to plan a Valentine's photo shoot with my girls and keep dreaming up a fancy headbands they can wear. I need to find red fabric! Wouldn't this headband be perfect with the chunky Valentine's necklace?  I'll have to post pictures of my Valentine's shoot when I'm done :)

And the Winner Is...

I had Mia draw a name out of a hat last night and the name she chose is The Robinson Family!!!! CONGRATS!

Isn't She the Cutest?

This is little Miss Maddy, my good friend Michelle's daughter.   Michelle ordered the Valentine's necklace I made for this photo shoot.  She is an amazing photographer!  If you're in the Orange County area you really should check her out!  She does outstanding work.  Michelle and I have been best friends since high school and we both have two little girls.  Both of her girls are simply gorgeous!  Thanks so much Michelle for sharing this picture with me!  If any of you are planning on taking pictures of your little Valentine, you might want to consider ordering one of these chunky beaded necklaces :) Just leave me a comment if you want one.
P.S. I retouched Michelle's photo (so if you don't like the retouching its my fault, LOL).

Chunky Beaded Necklaces for Toddlers & Little Girls

As you can tell, I've been on a jewelry making kick!  Who doesn't love a fun chunky beaded necklace on a cute little girl?  Mia has been wearing these since she was 2 years old and always gets attention when she wears them.  I haven't seen anything like these on etsy or online when I googled, so I thought I would share them with you and let you know you can order them from me :)
I have to admit, its really hard not to keep them all for my girls after I'm done making them!  Mia wants to keep them all.  She especially likes the first one (so I'll probably make her one, lol).

These last two are the ones I made for Mia.  The cupcakes are handmade by me.  I sell these as well, but each one is one of a kind so I'll have to bake up a batch of cupcake beads and get to work so you too can have one of these beauties for your lil' cupcake!
This pink cupcake is a big honker! I love'em big :) If you don't want to buy the whole necklace, but would like to order a cupcake bead, I sell just the beads too!  They are $5 without crystal sprinkles and $8 with crystal sprinkles.

Valentine's Bling for the Little Ones

Mia was so excited when I made this bracelet. I just might have to make one for her now.  This is ready to ship out.  The toggle makes it a little more sturdy for the little ones.  This measures 6 inches and fits my 1 year old AND my 4 year old. I can make these special order in any size :) Just leave me a comment with your contact info.
Do you love this necklace as much as I do? I just went to a bead party tonight and picked up the polka dot gum ball beads and the striped ones.  This will fit any toddler or young girl.  It measures 16 inches. These chunky beads look so cute on little girls! Mia gets tons of compliments and attention every time she wears her chunky necklaces. This necklace is sure to be a hit for your little sweet heart on Valentine's Day OR for the whole month of love.  I will be posting this in my shop.

Apron Skirt #2

I decided to give the zipper another go, and it was so much EASIER the second time around :)  Mia was not thrilled to take pictures today. This was right after our outing to Trader Joe's and she was eager to get inside to watch Wow Wow Wubbzy.  This skirt is a lot cuter in person than in these rushed pictures. The waistband is the orange butterfly print by Sandy Henderson. The same one I used on the border of her apron dress http://miamoodesigns.blogspot.com/2010/07/my-first-apron-dress.html. (I'm not sure why, but blogger hasn't been letting me add links by pasting the link in the link box. It only lets me paste the link on my direct post. Anyone else having this problem?  Back to the skirt-Its really cute with tights and boots, but I think it'll be cute without them when it heats up.  I made this one a little longer so it will fit her next year too :)

MiaMoo Layering

I love that Mia can still wear her cute summer sundresses in the winter with a little layering!  I found these cute red converse on clearance at Target the other day just in time for Valentine's Day :) I've been going through her closet to find things she can wear with them and came across this sundress I made her in the summer.  Doesn't it look so cute with jeans and a t-shirt?  I wish I could look as cute as her everyday!

Homemade Sugar Scrub for Your Hands

Remember the amazing neighbor I made cookies for?  Well, she watched my girls for me yesterday and I wanted to make her a little something to say thank you.  I found this homemade sugar scrub over at http://thegainesgang4.blogspot.com/2010/04/garden-hand-scrub.html .  It is soooo EASY, INEXPENSIVE, and CUTE for a thank you gift, Mother's Day gift, etc.  Literally, all it is, is sugar and Dawn soap. I used the Pomegranate Splash scent with Olay in it.  There are other homemade recipes for sugar scrub out there, but this one is the easiest and the least amount of ingredients.
I bought the mason jars at WalMart. It came with 4 jars and was about $3.75 I think. To make it complete, I tied a bow with ribbon and made a cute little label. Hope you enjoy this as much as me :) I made some for myself as well and I think I'm in love!

MiaMoo Designs Apron Skirt

I ordered this fabric with an apron skirt in mind, and finally made it yesterday.  You can't tell in the picture because her shirt is covering it, but the waistband is made with the green polka dot fabric by Amy Butler. Its a pretty thick waistband and I added a zipper in the back.  I need to make a few more skirts with zippers before I decide whether or not I'd like to put them in my boutique to sell.  I didn't use a pattern for this skirt.  I just used her waist measurements and measured out long I wanted it and how big I wanted the apron.  I can make the skirts pretty quickly, but I'm still new with the zippers.  I LOVE the way it turned out.  I hope to find a cream long sleeve top to go with it so I can applique the trees on the front.  Whenever I go to Target or Walmart I can never seem to find long sleeve shirts.  Maybe I should try Old Navy.   I also would like to make her a headband to match :)  I'll post pics if I ever get around to it!

New Dress and Flower Clip for Hayden

I used this fabric on a dress for Mia months ago and finally got around to making one for Hayden. I decided to add a front pouch pocket this time :)  I also made a matching pink and brown hair flower.  I have enough of this fabric on hand to make one more dress if anyone is interested. I just posted it in my boutique.  I can make size 3-6 mos up to size 5T.  Did you all have a good New Year's Eve?  My hub and I went to Cafe Rio with some friends for dinner then went back to their house for games. I know, exciting right? We all had our kids with us so it was perfect. Mia and Hayden were little rockstars and stayed up the whole time.  We've been lounging around ever since to get caught up on our sleep and get back on schedule.  It has been so cold these past few days, so I haven't really taken my camera out much. Yesterday evening didn't feel quite as cold so I was thrilled to take Hayden in our backyard for a little photo shoot :)
