Cozy Flannel Candy Cane Dress

This dress is so cozy!  Mia has tons of dresses, but none that are warm and cozy like this one.  I was able to put my flannel to good use :) For the top of the dress I used a long sleeve red t-shirt from WalMart. It was only $3.50. You know the Granimals brand?  Anyway, I liked the red metallic elastic around the neck and thought it would be really cute if I made it into a dress with Christmas fabric.  I added a  flannel flower with a button in the center out of some other Christmas flannel.  Mia LOVES it!  Now I need to make Hayden one. It has been so cold here (well cold for me!), so if you also live in cold weather, I totally recommend sewing your daughter a dress out of flannel

O Christmas Tree Elastic Waistband Skirt

How cute is this Christmas tree fabric I got at JoAnn's last week?  If you look closely you can see that the trees are several hearts that shape trees.  Mia has been wanting to wear it for the past week, but I told her she had to wait until after Thanksgiving. I let her wear it today since we were decorating the tree, making cookies for the neighbors, and doing some other fun Christmas activities.  I made this skirt the same way I made her Halloween skirt (tutorial is on my sidebar).  I love this time of year and can't wait to post some more holiday fun!  I am in the process of making my girls ballet slipper Christmas stockings.  So cute!  I have extra supplies to make more, so if any of you are interested in purchasing a ballet slipper stocking I can make one for you too.  I'll definitely post pictures when I'm done.  Mia's is done except for the tulle I need to add at the top. Stay tuned...

Hooray for Black Friday!

JoAnn's was having a HUGE sale today on all their flannel! Just $1.29 a yard :) Needless to say, I stocked up big time.  I think I have enough to get me through the year.  They had some really cute prints. I can't wait to get going on some things. I also scored with a 7ft. pre-lit Christmas Tree for $35!!  There were only 2 and I got one.  It was my first time ever shopping on Black Friday. I got there around 5:30am. and because I was one of the first 100 shoppers I also got a $5 gift card. I had a great experience. What did you all buy? Please share! Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving!

Joy/Boo Sign

You've got to love two in one decorations :) Last night I went with my sister inlaw to a craft night at our church and made this cute double sided sign for Christmas and Halloween.  I still  need to adjust the ribbons sand the edges, but wanted to take a quick pic.  I made something else too, but I'll have to post it later since it's  not done yet. Time flew last night I didn't have time to finish this sign or my other craft.  My grandparents are in town and were kind enough to watch both my girls all night.  It was a much needed night out for me!  Since we just moved back to the States, I have NO decorations, so this is a nice way to start out, don't you think?

Featured on About.com: DIY Fashion in October

Today I surprised to find out that my Halloween Embellished Onesie was featured last month! I decided to google MiaMoo Designs to see what would pop up, and found their website that way. For some reason it isn't letting me cut and paste the link here. She talked about different Fall Projects to work on yourself and added my link for my Halloween Embellished Onesie Tutorial. How cool is that?  I'm really flattered.  Anyway just thought I'd share the cool news.  Hey, and if any of YOU my readers ever feature me, please leave me a comment letting me know you have because it would really make my day!  Thank you to all my readers, I appreciate each and every one of you.

New Design

I just picked up some lace while I was out the other day along with this deep purple satin.  I wanted to design something that would be pretty during the day, but also for a night out. With all the holiday parties coming up, I think this headband is perfect.  Pretty for ladies, teenagers, and little girls.  I try to make things that Mia and I both can wear. You can thank me later ;-) This one is ready to be shipped out, so let me know if you're interested and it's yours!

Cherry Flannel Pajama Pants

It's a miracle, both my girls are napping! I just made these cute pajama pants and one other pair that I'll post later.  So cozy I want to make myself a pair!  Right now I have one available in this print.  I can email you other prints I as well if you're interested. Just leave me a comment with your contact info. Thanks!

Sassy Pants

Is she sassy or what? I took out my camera to take a picture of her wearing the pajama pants I just made her and and struck this pose all on her own!  Has it been freezing in anyone else's houses?  Geese, here in AZ the temperature dropped and it was 60 degrees in our house.  Of course now I have the heater on, but figured flannel pajama bottoms were in order. My aunt gave me a ton of flannel and I'm making good use of it.  I just love this owl print!  I need to get more elastic because I have several others all cut out waiting to be sewn.  I have a 4t pattern so if anyone would like me to make them a pair in 4t let me know!  They are $12. Wish I had more sizes to make. I'm trying to make a pattern for Hayden too, so I might be able to make size 12 month as well...we'll see!  Mia loves them as you can see!  I was planning on giving them to her for Christmas but couldn't wait...why is it I always do that?  I have plenty of other cute prints so hopefully I'll have the discipline to save them for Christmas!

Three Quarter Sleeve Dress/Tunic

It really cooled off this week so tights and boots were in order :) I made this cute dress for Mia last month.  I LOVED this corduroy apple print fabric when I saw it and new it would be perfect for a fall dress.  It also can be worn as a tunic with jeans.  Another bonus is how well the headband matches :)

Large Dusty Pink Rose

I took Hayden's one year portraits a couple of days ago, and made this pretty rose clip for her to wear in them. Stinkin cute huh? Too large you say?  I'm going to say it once, and I won't say it again, there is NEVER a flower clip too big for pictures on a sweet baby girl! ;-) What can I say? I LOVE big flowers if you haven't already noticed.  To view more photos from her photo shoot, please visit my photography blog HERE.  I just made prints yesterday and I think I'm in love!  I'm seriously considering ordering canvas for a couple of them.

Hayden's 1 Year Princess Party

My baby turned 1 today!  I can hardly believe it.  Her little party turned out so cute.  I decided against the fondant cake and went with cupcakes instead.  I made the crown cupcake toppers myself along with her invitations.  I went to Scrapbooks Etc. to cut out the crowns and 1's.  I also used their paper cutter and corner punches.  Some bling was in order so I used pink swarovski crystals on the top of the crown and iridescent swarovski crystals on the bottom of the crown and on the corners of the invite. I wish I had nicer writing so I could have hand written them, but I don't, so I used Microsoft Word to write out what I wanted them to say and printed them on card stock from home.  I went ahead and made the chocolate and sprinkled covered pretzels and large marshmallows that I put in pretty pink glasses. They were delish and looked even cuter on the table.  I found some pink star suckers on long plastic sticks that looked like princess wands.  I had a lot of fun planning and Hayden was the perfect birthday girl. The night before her party I made her a little cupcake birthday outfit.  I'll have to take pictures of it since you can't really tell from the pictures. Basically I used cupcake fabric and made an elastic waistband skirt and made a ruffle with the same fabric and sewed it to her onesie.  Since she pulls out most of her clips, I glued pink swarovski crystals to a tiny alligator clip with teeth to match her outfit and keep the hair out of her face. She kept it in the whole party :) Overall the evening was a success. It was so fun having my mom, brother, and sister inlaw in town! They were a HUGE help :)

Party Planning

I can't believe it, my little meatball is turning 1 on Sunday!  My mom and brother are coming into town so I'm planning a little party. Notice I said little.  Just close family, but it doesn't mean I don't want to make it cute!  Things have been so crazy around here that her birthday kind of snuck up on me.  I really want to try making a little fondant cake, but we'll see if I have time. I've seen tutorials online, but really have no experience in cake decorating.  I want Hayden's party to be princess themed.  I went to the scrapbooking store today to get all the materials to make her invitations. I know, so silly to make invitations when there are only 3 to make, lol, but I want something to put in her baby book to remember the day. Plus, Mia had stinkin cute invitations for her 1st birthday and don't want Hayden to get the shaft! hahaa.  I used the die cut machine to cut out crowns and 1's.  We'll see how the final invite turns out.  I am going to make my own cupcake toppers too. No more ordering on etsy and having them get lost in the mail before the party!  Now I'm trying to think about the menu.  Since it will be a few adults and the rest kids, I'm thinking of pigs in a blanket, cut up watermelon, and of course some yummy treats.  These are some ideas...(all pics found on the internet)
I've also thought about brownie pops, but it might be too time consuming.  I'm trying to think of things that will make a cute display and also be a tasty treat for Hayden's guests. I will also have crown shaped sugar cookies with pink frosting.  Luckily we will be having another little family get together the next night with my husband's family because I'm pretty sure we'll have plenty of left overs!  I'll be sure to take pictures and post about what I end up doing.  Any other ideas?

Little Cutie Clutch

I have a customer that placed a large order a couple of weeks ago, so I wanted to send her a little something to say thank you. Isn't this a perfect way to say thanks?  You can't tell from the pictures how small it is, but it's only 5.75" by 3.25".  It's even cuter in person.  I'm going to be whipping up a bunch of these and the larger one I posted the other day, so if you'd like to order any they are $12 for the small one and $15 for the large one.  The large one is 8.5" by 4.5".  They will make great stocking stuffers and gifts :) I think they would also work as a sunglasses case!  I'm excited to sew through a lot of the cute fabric remnants I have that have been too small to use on my other sewing projects.  The fabric I used on this Little Cutie Clutch is from Heather Bailey's Pop Garden, and the polka dot print is by Amy Butler. Two of my favorite designers.  More to come :)
